Precinct Coordinating Committee

Recruits, trains, and maintains a team of Precinct Workers to deliver the Party's message, to listen to their neighbors, and to assure the maximum vote for our candidates. Works in conjuntion with the national and state party and with local Democratic clubs to spread the Democratic message and coordinate get-out-the-vote efforts during elections.

The PBC Democratic Party is divided into 12 geographic Zones. All DEC members are automatically members of the Precinct Coordinating Committee, under the coordination of the Zone leader in their geographical area.

Affirmative Action Committee

Recommends to the D.E.C. actions, including the appointment of new members, which will ensure equitable representation and inclusion of all persons and groups as to political, minority, demographic, economic, and geographic consideration.

Campaign Committee

Develops an overall campaign plan for the PBC Democratic Party. Provides information and assistance to all Democratic candidates' campaigns. Recommends to members of the D.E.C. ways and means to further these campaigns.

Clubs & Community Relations Committee

Fosters communication and cooperation among Democratic Clubs in Palm Beach County in joint efforts and activities. Identifies issues and concerns which should be addressed jointly by the D.E.C. and by local Democratic Clubs.

Education Committee

Advises the D.E.C. on education issues. Works with public schools and Head Start programs to improve the children's educational experience. Proposes legislation and budget initiatives to the Legislative Committee.

Finance Committee

Prepares an annual program of proposed fund raising activities and assists in raising funds to support the party's activities. Performs such other duties as may be requested.

Legislative Committee

Submits to the D.E.C. recommendations for the consideration of existing or proposed resolutions, ordinances, statutes, and laws pertaining to local, state, and national issues, consistent with the policies and objectives of the D.E.C.

Membership Committee

Verifies the credentials of candidates for D.E.C. membership and applicants for vacant seats and review applications for membership. Provides orientation to new members of the D.E.C., and maintains permanent membership records.

Plans an annual Calendar of Events and special programs for the meetings of the D.E.C.

Publicizes the activities of the D.E.C. in local newspapers, on radio, and on television, both broadcast and cable.

Research & Issues Development Committee

Researches issues; develops Democratic talking points papers; promotes Democratic positions on issues through Letters to the Editor, emails, and other mechanisms to spread the Democratic message.

Ensures compliance with state and national party rules. Arbitrates complaints or grievances.

VOICE (Volunteer Outreach, Information & Community Events) Committee

Plans, coordinates, and conducts a wide variety of outreach activities and community events to spread the Democratic message and implement Democratic principles in action within the community. Plans and implements major party events, party "funraisers" and other events for Democrats to come together in common purpose.

Plans, coordinates, and conducts countywide continuing voter education and registration programs designed to reach all segments of the population and recruit new deputy registrars from among members of the D.E.C.
